As an animator or video artist working with Story Drive, you'll receive an audio recording. A real human voice, unscripted and raw. Your task is to listen. Not to illustrate, but to interpret. To find the visual language that lives inside the sound.
There are no style guides, no brand constraints, no predetermined aesthetics. Your film is your response. Hand-drawn, 3D, collage, stop-motion, motion graphics. We welcome all approaches. What matters is the honesty of your engagement with the material.

Student & Internship Projects
Unpaid / PortfolioIdeal for animation students, MFA candidates, or emerging artists looking to build their portfolio. You'll receive an audio recording and full creative freedom to produce a short animated film. We provide mentorship, feedback, and a platform for your work to be seen.
Independent Animator Contributions
Unpaid / PortfolioFor independent animators and video artists who want to contribute to the anthology. You work at your own pace, with your own tools, and in your own style. Your film becomes part of the permanent collection and is credited to you.
Commissioned Anthology Films
PaidFor select recordings, we commission experienced animators to create films that become part of a larger anthology. These pieces are often stitched together — neighboring stories on the same street. You'll be working with an awareness of the whole, not just your individual piece. Funded through grants, partnerships, and institutional support.
